It was a new season that started like any other with Matthew joining another Individual Wednesday’s Indoor Dodgeball League. The first game was just like any other too, the initial awkwardness of not knowing who’s on your team and what they’re like. Chalked up a couple games in the “L” column, not an unfamiliar experience. Dione, having been on vacation for the first couple games, finally joined in the 3rd, and the team’s luck changed. After an unexpected win, the team went out for post-game drinks feeling elated. That’s where Dione and Matthew got to know each other a little better. The following week the team had another win, and Matthew decided to ask Dione to meet up, outside of dodgeball. Dione thinking this might be another team affair almost invited another teammate living in the area, but thought better of it last minute. The two have been playing dodgeball ever since!
